GTA V leaves PS Plus on 17 November, two days before GTA 6, and PlayStation is already warning players

An on-console message confirms it: GTA V leaves the PS Plus Extra and Premium catalogue on 17 November. How long it takes to finish and what happens if you bought it.

Sony has announced one of November's departures early, and it is not just any game: it is the GTA you can play at no extra cost until the next one arrives.

What the message says

PS5 owners are getting a system notification with the date, according to Push Square. GamingBible quotes it: GTA V is in the Extra and Premium catalogue "only until November 17", and the message suggests a trip to Los Santos before Jason and Lucia's story begins.

Below it are two buttons: pre-order GTA VI or play GTA V.

Is there time to finish it?

From 14 October there are five weeks left. Using the HowLongToBeat times GamingBible cites:

• Main story: about 32 hours. Plenty of time.
• Story plus side content: about 51 hours. Doable if you keep at it.
• 100%: almost 90 hours. Hard before the 17th.

It will most likely come back

This is not the first time it has left. Since December 2023 GTA V has come and gone from the Extra catalogue three times, and Red Dead Redemption 2 is on its third stint, Push Square notes, adding that the game is almost certain to return at some point. Neither Sony nor Rockstar has said when.

What does not change

• If you bought it, it is still yours. The removal only affects people playing it through the subscription.
• You do not need PS Plus to play GTA 6, at least for the story.
• The rest of November's departures will be announced later. According to GamingBible, Sony usually reveals them when the month's additions arrive, from 20 October.
