Cars have never been set dressing in this series, but what is being described goes a step beyond buying and tuning them: building them from loose parts.
How it would work
- You collect vehicles and can keep any you find around the map, standard GTA stuff.
- The new part is that parts are scattered across Leonida for you to pick up.
- Those parts go to Wyman, a mechanic you can interact with a lot, who may also turn up in main missions.
- Wyman rebuilds classic models from a closed roster, not any car at all.
What it has to do with the Ultimate Edition
Precision matters here, because this point has been reported wrongly many times. On Rockstar's official site, among the Ultimate Edition contents, there is a "Classic Car Collection". That is the real name. According to the demo reports, owners of that edition would get a larger roster of classics to restore.

The precedent
Rockstar did something similar in GTA Online with abandoned cars and scrapyards, and in Red Dead Redemption 2 with collectibles scattered across the map. The difference is the context: in a modern Vice City, restoring a classic fits the world of workshops, shops and businesses Rockstar has shown — Rideout Customs, Sara's salon, the Stock 305 clothing store — and the idea that much of the content is found by exploring.
What is not confirmed
- How many models the roster holds.
- Whether parts appear in fixed spots or randomly.
- What you get for completing the collection.
- Rockstar has published nothing about this activity beyond listing the Classic Car Collection in the Ultimate.
Do you need the Ultimate Edition to restore cars?
From what is described, no: the Ultimate would grant more models, not the whole activity. Not confirmed by Rockstar.
Who is Wyman?
A mechanic in the game, described in the demos as one of the characters you can interact with most.
